Fit Spirit’s Mission
Fit Spirit’s will support and guide you to get strong, and feel, look, and be your healthy best. We do this by joyfully and consciously teaching you techniques, form, and exercises that will match your current goals and while being mindful of your physical needs. When working with our clients, it is very important that we train you safely, with joy, and presence. While Amy does specialize in training active older adults, people with mild cognitive decline. medium aged people, postpartum moms and fitness phobics, here at Fit Spirit, we are capable and excited to work with all populations. We have been at this since 1997 and it is very important that we keep learning and growing so you can get the most up to date knowledge and workouts.
Our mission is to provide encouraging, knowledgeable, versatile and supportive workouts. The training we provide will match your interests and goals, while avoiding injury where your body is challenged. Our goal is for you to safely reach a level of fatigue, help you increase your strength, flexibility, balance and help you grow more fit, healthy and to feel better in the body you inhabit. Your workout will be tailored to reach your specific goals. Our job is to be your teacher, guide, support, accountability partner and cheerleader. We do this with our own brand of quirky, perky, expertise, while creating a comfortable nonjudgemental atmosphere.
Whether you are an active older adult that doesn’t want to lose muscle tone, and wants to gain balance or stronger bones or you you are someone who wants to reverse your diabetes or other ailments that exercise is known to help, we know how to help. If you are struggling with emotional eating or want to raise your metabolism and or get wicked strong and tone, we can help you. If you are preparing to run a race or improve your golf swing, while avoiding exacerbating any injuries, we can help. We do a very thorough intake and assessment, so we know what is going on for you and we find the best ways to make your fitness goals come true.
We have many clients who do not necessarily enjoy working out, but they keep coming back because we have so much fun working out together. You don’t have to do this alone and it’s our passion to make the fitness experience more pleasant and maybe even enjoyable (this is in particular for fitness phobics).
Additionally, we can make your special day even more special and unique by adding dance. We are available to teach couples wedding dances, Bar Mitzvahs dance parties, Parent Child Dance. Holiday parties, Engagement parties, Flash mobs, Plays and so on and so forth.
For dance enthusiasts, our mission is to teach fun new ways and technique to move your body in multi- genres and disciplines, through classes and or one-one sessions with Amy. Additionally, dance students can tap into their own creative process through dance structures and scores, where the goal is for the group mind to create something unique and special. The purpose of this type of class is to give dance students an opportunity to delve into their own creativity, have ownership over their process, and for their work to be seen and appreciated.
Amy has been teaching dance to people of all age groups and abilities since the mid-1990s.She is certified a certified K-12 dance teacher in the state of MA. and has taught many types of dance, in all different spaces. She has taught both in traditional learning institutions and also nontraditional settings. Dance is definitely one of her strongest passions.
